Newport Beach Blues

Here are some pictures I took (with the exception of the portrait of me) on my recent trip to Newport Beach, RI. The sun was out and it was a beautiful fall day. Please leave your comments and opinions at the end of the post!IMG_2270-1 IMG_2262-1IMG_2303-1-bwIMG_2290-1

My First Photowalk!

I recently went on a photowalk through Dubai, with my uncle, shooting with his Canon 1000D. It was my first experience with a DSLR and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Here’s an unedited shot taken near the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.

Picture specifications – 34 mm, f/18, 13 seconds exposure time, ISO 100.

Do critique the shot; I will graciously accept any comments and suggestions from you.

Trailblazers

Milestones set in stone.
They say, go down this way or perish alone,
Without this path, you’ll stay frail.
Forget they do, that grassy trail,
That had seen its last traveller in brocades
And will see it’s next one in shades.
This isn’t the road not taken,
‘Tis the trailblazer’s haven.

Tranquility in a Death Camp

The road goes on
The sky is infinite
Trees dot the skyline
An image of tranquility
In the middle of a death camp.

Photograph taken at the Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany.
Check out both the edits!

A Memory in the Rain

The sun rises,
The clouds burst,
Amidst the mist,
A memory churns,
Into the rain
It is hurled.
And then it beams into the sky,
Behind the mountain of joy.
The rain cedes
But leaves behind,
The seeds of a dream.

I clicked this photograph from the window of our car, in the German countryside. I have edited it to give it a prophetic look.

The Ghost Writer

The ghost is back, back to complete the unfinished story of his life, back to conquer his quest, back to realize his goal, back to put pencil to paper, back to awaken the world. The ghost writer has descended.

Photograph or Painting?

This is a photograph I had clicked atop the magnificent Nëushwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany (whose photograph I have posted here). The picture encompasses the entire view from the castle and resembles an ancient landscape replete with greenery. The edit makes it look even more magical with lush green meadows and a lake far along. What really works up an observer’s mind is the question: ‘Is this a photograph or a painting?’

Just Like the Fairy Tales

This photograph here depicts the picturesque Nëushwanstein Castle in Germany. It is said that Walt Disney was inspired by this castle when he was designing animated castles for his movies. Nëushwanstein Castle is truly ‘Just Like the Fairy Tales’.

The Journey to the End of the Beginning

The accompanying picture is one that gently cradles one’s thoughts into the surreal. I clicked it at the Melk Abbey in Austria.
To different people, this picture may mean different things, but to me, it is ‘The Journey to the End of Beginning‘. It signifies the transition of a boy into a man. The tunnel of childhood is well lit, but it darkens towards the end. That is when a new light is seen, the light of adulthood.
